Eric Wei and Chelsea Inglis at Majipreneur Summit
📍 Kampala, Uganda

The Majipreneur Summit is named after maji, the Swahili word for water. Eric Wei and Chelsea Inglis attended as representatives of both Global Water Center and Carbon 4 Safe Water (C4SW).

Hosted by CEWAS and supported by the Hilton Foundation, the summit brought together entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and government leaders to explore innovative financing strategies and women-led initiatives in the WASH sector. Eric and Chelsea introduced C4SW’s new Carbon Aggregator Platform (CAP)—a collaborative approach designed to help safe drinking water project developers access carbon markets by combining efforts and sharing resources.

With Uganda facing a $1.3 billion annual funding gap in the water sector, they explained how carbon financing can play a vital role in closing that gap. The CAP program also includes an accelerator course to equip developers with the training and tools needed to navigate the carbon credit journey from project registration to credit sale.

Thank you, Eric and Chelsea, for helping drive forward the conversation on blended finance and climate-smart water solutions in Uganda and beyond.
