GWC is excited to share some incredible outcomes from our collaboration with Water Mission in supporting UNICEF’s East Asia and Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO) Solar Hub project.

Our primary role in this initiative is to provide expertise in training design and delivery for solar powered water systems (SPWS). We started by adapting and contextualizing our online SPWS course to meet the unique needs of participants from various countries across East Asia and the Pacific.

In addition to managing participant engagement throughout the program, we have facilitated in-person workshops in Fiji and Papua New Guinea and have upcoming workshops planned for Vietnam and Laos. These workshops are crucial for addressing technical capacity gaps and fostering cross-sector collaboration among WASH, health, and education professionals in the region.

Solar powered water systems improve access to safe water in remote and underserved areas where traditional energy sources are unavailable or unreliable. By equipping local leaders with the skills and knowledge to implement and maintain these systems, we can create lasting change in communities that need it most.

Through this collaboration with Water Mission and UNICEF, GWC is contributing to a global effort to solve the water crisis by working across borders and sectors. Together, we are making significant strides in addressing water challenges, not just for today, but for future generations.
