Benjamin Filskov and Eileen Jarnholt at the GRUNDFOS Prize EXPO

📍 Bjerringbro, Denmark

At the GRUNDFOS Prize Expo, the Grundfos Foundation showcased a powerful vision for philanthropy across water, research, and inclusion.

We were proud to share how our Water Capacity Development Program strengthens skills and systems—not through short, isolated trainings, but by embedding learning inside government water agencies and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. Local professionals gain practical skills within the systems they manage, ensuring knowledge stays rooted where it matters most.
This work is possible thanks to the generous support of the Grundfos Foundation and other partners who believe in long-term, locally led solutions. Thank you for creating space to connect, learn, and celebrate what’s possible when innovation and compassion work together.

Tess Brodie and GWC Colleagues at the UNC Water & Health Conference

📍 Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

At the recent UNC Health & Water Conference, Global Water Center’s Tess Brodie presented “Insights from Rural Practitioners: A Thematic Analysis of Implementation Challenges in Solar-Powered Water Systems.” Her research highlights common challenges faced by implementers worldwide and informs our approach to capacity development.

In addition, we helped host a side session to refine the new global research agenda on sensor-based drinking water quality monitoring—identifying evidence gaps across governance, financing, technology, capacity, and data systems. It was inspiring to see practitioners and researchers push forward on tools and systems that make real-time water quality data possible in low-resource settings.

We are also grateful to our cohosts—PATH, Cova, Mangrove Water, Ugandan Water Project, Aquaya, and Virridy—and to everyone who contributed insights. Together, we’re strengthening the global water workforce and accelerating progress toward safe water for all.
