This month, 28 team members from four countries gathered for Global Water Center’s staff retreat. It was a time to build relationships and encourage one another in our shared mission to end the global water crisis.

With double the number of staff members as last year, the retreat reflected our rapid growth and expanding global reach. Each division had time to share about their work, helping the team better understand how each part contributes to the whole. A key focus was developing common language to describe who we are and what we do, which is an important step as we continue to grow and engage new partners.

The retreat was also marked by generosity and hospitality. Several local supporters opened their homes to host staff, creating a warm and welcoming environment. One evening two friends of the organization generously provided dinner for the team at their beautiful home in downtown Charleston. Then we had a boat ride hosted by another supporter—an unforgettable evening of connection and celebration.

As Global Water Center continues to equip leaders around the world, this retreat served as a reminder that our strength lies in our unity. When we take time to listen, share, and dream together, we build trust and alignment that fuel lasting impact.
