Audience: This online cohort is designed for professionals involved in water resources or water supply management in low- and middle-income countries who need foundational groundwater knowledge, funding agencies, NGOs, hydrogeologists, water managers, relevant government agencies, consulting firms, and stakeholders from other sectors impacting groundwater.

Prerequisites:

  • Introduction to Groundwater Resource Management (required)
  • Introduction to Groundwater Science (required)

Time commitment: Approximately 5 hours a week for up to 6 weeks

Registration Cost: $175 per person

A limited number of sponsored seats are available at no cost for individual applicants. Qualified applicants will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until the course reaches capacity.

Description

This course provides professionals with essential knowledge and skills for sustainable groundwater management. Through scenario-based units, learners examine issues like over-extraction, contamination, and climate change, apply systems thinking to advocacy strategies, and develop context-specific plans and persuasive messages to support equitable, evidence-based groundwater policy and practice.
