Earlier this year, Global Water Center was selected for Salesforce’s Agents for Impact Accelerator. Along with a generous grant, we received the opportunity to develop artificial intelligence solutions designed to expand social impact.
In September, after months of research, design, and testing, we shared the results at Salesforce Demo Day. Representing our team, Brendan Wright introduced Hydro—our new AI-powered agent created to support water professionals long after their initial training.
GWC has trained over 4,000 professionals in 131 countries, but course alumni continue to face new challenges in their work. Hydro bridges that gap. With thousands of pages of GWC training materials at its core, Hydro makes knowledge accessible in real time. A water professional in the field can send a WhatsApp message describing a problem and receive immediate, accurate guidance.
The response at Demo Day was both affirming and inspiring. Salesforce leaders praised Hydro for its ability to meet people where they’re at and provide such important information. As Schuyler Kaye, the Global Director of Sustainability Solutions at Salesforce, shared, “The impact this is having is so massive and so important.”
We are profoundly grateful to Salesforce for investing in this vision. Hydro is just the beginning. With the continued support of our partners and community, Global Water Center is equipping more water professionals to bring safe water to those who need it most.
This is great innovation for the WASH sector and looking forward to interacting with it.
