Global Water Center is honored to welcome Vida Duti, a globally recognized expert in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) systems, to its Board of Directors. Vida Duti’s 20+ years of leadership have reshaped public systems, influenced national policies, and built powerful coalitions for sustainable water access.
Growing up fetching water in Ghana sparked Duti’s early awareness of the global water crisis and fueled a lifelong passion to end it. Over the years, she has emerged as a significant leader in the WASH sector, driving national reforms, strengthening institutions, and championing sustainability.
As Country Director of IRC Ghana and Director of Strategy and Programme Quality for IRC Global, she has led high-level collaborations, advised ministries, and implemented award-winning initiatives. Her work has influenced sector-wide strategies in Ghana and across sub-Saharan Africa, advancing rural water utility reform, district-wide service delivery, and WASH financing innovation.
“We are thrilled to welcome Vida Duti to Global Water Center’s board,” said George Greene III, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “Her leadership experience, ability to drive systemic change, and deep commitment to collaboration align with our belief that working together is key to solving the global water crisis.”
In 2019, Duti received the OFID Annual Award for Development in recognition of her exceptional efforts to improve WASH access in Ghana. She continues to play a central role in advancing sustainable WASH systems through collaborative action and sector transformation.
“I am honored to join Global Water Center’s Board of Directors,” said Duti. “This is an opportunity to contribute my leadership and experience to a global community committed to building effective, lasting solutions that ensure everyone has access to safe water.”
Her appointment strengthens Global Water Center’s capacity to confront the urgent challenges of the global water crisis.
